A selective 13-hour barista pathway designed to help you feel confident, prepared and café trial ready.
Become confident for real café trials in Melbourne
I Am Ready to Work is our most focused barista pathway for students who want more than a beginner class. You will complete barista foundations, latte art training, resume support, and guided trial simulations designed to prepare you for real café expectations.
Designed for complete beginners
This program is ideal for students who want to apply for café jobs but need more confidence, structure, and practice before walking into a trial.
What classes are included?
The Ready to Work program includes Barista, Latte Art, an online theory check and two guided trial simulations across a total of 13 hours, designed to build confidence step by step before real café trials.
Barista Course
4 hoursA hands-on class combining strong theory and practice: espresso extraction, milk texturing and Melbourne coffee standards will prepare you to understand the difference between recipes.
Latte Art
3 hoursLearn latte art patterns including heart and tulip, with a strong focus on consistency and not complexity.
Online Test
Theory checkAfter successful completion of Barista and Latte Art, you’ll need to pass a theory exam designed to help you be ready for trials.
Trial 1
3 hoursLatte art practice focused on consistency in a very small private practice session, with feedback and confidence building.
Trial 2
3 hoursGrinder adjustment and dial in, latte art practice, workflow, speed, pressure practice and final feedback.
Built around real café expectations
Melbourne café trials move fast. Most students do not fail because they cannot make coffee — they fail because they panic under pressure, lose workflow, or do not understand what cafés actually expect. This program is designed to close that gap.
Learn café workflow properly
Learn grinder awareness, milk texturing, espresso extraction, consistency and workflow according to Melbourne café standards. This is not just about “making coffee” — it is about understanding how cafés actually operate.
Practise before your first trial
Trial simulations help students understand pressure, timing, communication and consistency before entering a real café environment. We focus on building calmness and confidence, not just technique.
More than just a coffee class
This pathway combines technical coffee skills with confidence building and employability support.
Hands-On Training
Real commercial equipment, grinders and café workflow practice in extremely small groups.
Resume Review
Get guidance to improve your resume and make it more suitable for café applications.
Trial Simulations
Experience realistic café trial situations before applying for your first barista job.
Ongoing Support
Reach out anytime before your trials if you need clarification or support.
